Praised be the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! — Niech będzie pochwalony Jezus Chrystus!
A greeting commonly heard throughout the Church. This greeting brings to mind the place of Jesus in our lives, and the regard and honor with which we hold His Holy Name.
Jesus has been given many titles both in the Bible and in history. Among them are:
Son of God (Luke 1:35), Jesus (Matthew 1:21), Yeho-shua, Yeshua, Yahweh saves, Yahweh is my help, IESVS, Christ, Christus, King, Prophet, High Priest, Messiah, Anointed One, Lord, Son of man, King of the Jews, King of Israel (John 1:49), Rabboni (John 20:16), Master (Mark 10:51), Rabbi (John 1:38), Emmanuel. Divine, Redeemer, Liberator, Saviour of the World, Teacher (John 3:2), The new Adam, Apostle, Paraclete, Mediator, Logos, The Word, Immanuel (Matthew 1:23), Head of the Church, Star from Jacob (Numbers 24:17), Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6, Jeremiah 23:5), Man of Suffering (Isaiah 53:3), Son of Mary (Mark 6:3), Nazorean (Matthew 2:23), Word of God (John 1:1, Revelation 19:13), Lamb of God (John 1:29,36), Messiah, Anointed One (John 1:41), Bread of Life (John 6:35), Gate of the Sheep (John 10:1,7,9), Good Shepherd (John 10:11,14, Hebrews 13:20), Holy and Just One (Acts 3:14), Apostle and High Priest (Hebrews 3:1), Alpha and Omega (Revelation 1:8), Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Root of David (Revelation 5:5), Lamb Slain (Revelation 5:6), Lord of Lords, King of Kings (Revelation 17:14, Revelation 19:16).
Let us always greet each other in the Name of Jesus, keeping in mind that we are part of His body, the Church. Doing so, we remember that Jesus lives in those we meet. As we treating everyone, so we treat Jesus.
